our story

Our story is a reminder of how simple life’s pleasures can be. We have great memories of spending time with friends and family around a table, enjoying good food & sharing stories, celebrating life together. We still do this with our own kids and grandkids.

Our menu is inspired by Sandy’s southern heritage as well as friends who have baked desserts for church dinners with her. That’s where she perfected her cheesecake recipe. She also worked at The White Horse Inn in Metamora, Michigan, one of the premier dining destinations in the area, where she further developed her baking techniques.

We eventually decided these family favorites were worth sharing with others, while spreading a little love and kindness too. So we converted a little vintage trailer into a blue & white cutie we named “Maggie” and constructed a new commercial kitchen. In November of 2017, the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development issued us our first Commissary and Mobile Food Unit licenses.

We now have the opportunity to share Sandy’s own favorite desserts with you, lovingly prepared from scratch, using the very best whole ingredients. Whenever possible, we include seasonal items grown here in Michigan. We’ve learned that people still love a traditional home baked dessert, especially when it’s served with good ice cream.

And we’re proud to serve some of the best ice cream available in our state! Guernsey Farms Dairy of Northville, Michigan is a third generation family-owned business, and their attention to details and choice of quality ingredients are the reasons their ice cream is the only one we serve.

When we serve guests at our kitchen window, it’s a personal and genuine experience. People often say, “This smells just like my Grandma’s house when I was a kid!”
